Audio/Video Recording of Board Meetings
On advice from Legal Counsel, audio and video recording of PLPOA meetings is prohibited.
- Video and audio recordings are not the official record of action taken at the meeting. Only the written minutes taken by the secretary and then approved by the Board.
- One of the 9 Governing Policies required by CCIOA is a Meeting Policy. This policy prohibits the recording of any meetings. (03 Meeting Policy, #9)
- Recording inhibits free discussion when someone knows they are being recorded.
- Recording provides an opportunity to take clips out of context. This results in time and money to correct and legal action having to be taken.
