American Red Cross Babysitter Training Course

Sign up now to get certified and become a part of our Babysitter’s Club!
The PLPOA Rec Center is developing a new program called Kids Club. It will allow parents and members to drop off their children for up to 1.5 hours while they work out or run errands. For this program to work, I need young people ages 11-16 to become interns here at the rec center and get hands-on experience working with younger children. To equip them with skills, we have an upcoming American Red Cross Babysitting Training Course offered on Saturday, October 3.
Once certified, the interns who join the Babysitters Club will help me set up games, activities, and supervised play for younger children in our Kids Club. Certified interns will gain valuable, supervised work experience, connect with parents looking for certified babysitters, and receive gift certificates when they reach milestones for hours worked. Peer mentoring — pairing younger children with older, more experienced peers — is a proven way to build academic skills, confidence, and social connection for both groups.
