PLPOA Swim Lessons

PLPOA swim lessons are available to PLPOA members. Our program is organized by the Recreation Center where we provide certified instructors to teach the children specific skills to learn how to swim or refine their strokes. Our swim lessons are for ages 3+. We offer lessons for beginner, intermediate, and advanced swimmers.

Beginner:
This class provides an introduction to swim progression. Prior experience is not required. Main areas of focus include: overcoming anxiety of being in the water, beginning breath control, beginning arm and leg action on front and back, front float with support, back float with support, supported front float with kick, supported back float with kick and jump in progression. Each swimmer must pass each skill set to move into the next level. Ages 3 to 6.

Intermediate:
Swimmers at this level should have the ability to submerge completely and perform front and back floats with little to no support. Main areas of focus include: Front and back float without support, unsupported front and back float with kick. Introduction to combined movements, float kick pull in both front and back positions. Child should be tall enough to have their head above the water in the shallow end. Ages 5-12.

Advanced:
Able to swim the length of the pool without stopping, demonstrates proficient front and back stroke skills, interested in learning additional strokes. Ages 7-12.

Registration opens May 1st for June lessons.
$60 for 8 sessions
