Pagosa Lakes is a covenant-controlled community comprised of over 6600 properties situated in 27 unique subdivisions encompassing 21 square miles. We are surrounded on 3 sides by the San Juan National Forest of the beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains. The Pagosa Lakes Property Owners Association is a mixed-use planned development which consists mainly of single-family residential lots, but also includes condominiums, townhouses, apartments and commercial properties. Wyndham Vacation Resorts offers a unique mountain experience to its time-share owners and guests in Pagosa Lakes. There are 5 pristine lakes reserved for the use of property owners and their guests. Four of the lakes are stocked regularly with trout, large-mouth bass, crappie, bluegill, catfish and jumbo perch providing a trophy fishing experience.
The 17,000 square foot Pagosa Lakes Recreation Center has an indoor lap pool, childrens pool and hot tub, extensive aerobic exercise options, state-of-the-art cardio equipment, racquetball and basketball courts indoors as well as outdoor basketball, volleyball and multi-use areas on the 12 acre campus. The administration offices and clubhouse sit on a 23 acre campus that surrounds Vista Lake. The administration building and its Vista Conference room provide modern meeting space and facilities, and the clubhouse is a multi-use space that contains a library, meeting and dance space, and kitchen facilities to provide opportunities for a wide range of events. There is an airstrip for model plane enthusiasts and a nature path encircling the lake.
The geographic center of Pagosa Lakes contains a diverse commercial development which includes many restaurants, banks, hardware and major grocery store, churches, and the Pagosa Springs Medical Center. We have a picturesque and challenging 27-hole championship golf course, and adjacent to the property is Steven's Field, Archuleta County's municipal airport. Just 30 minutes away is the Wolf Creek Ski Area providing a world class skiing experience and the most snow in Colorado! The town of Pagosa Springs is located just east of here and is home to the Pagosa Hot Springs, the deepest and largest natural hot springs in the world nestled beside the San Juan River providing a a perfect respite after a day of outdoor adventure. Nearby is Chimney Rock National Monument (the newest in the U.S.) providing an archeological adventure into the history of ancient civilizations that occupied our area. Other attactions include the Southern Ute Indian Reservation and its Sky Ute Casino and Resort. Durango, Colorado is 60 miles west and is home to the historic Durango-Silverton narrow guage railway, Fort Lewis College, and the Durango/La Plata County Airport which offers commercial airline service to major cities and international connections. Also not far away is the 25 mile-long Navajo Lake which offer many water sport and boating choices. This area of the country also allows access to many attractions within a day's drive, such as Great Sand Dunes National Park to the east and Mesa Verde National Park to the west, as well as the major cities of Albuquerque and Denver.
